Development preview
Platforms
The current app targets macOS, with native source editing, slide/notes previews, audience output, multi-display roles, and native/GPU content. iOS, Android, Windows, and a standalone web presenter are not supported app targets.
The homepage's interactive illustration demonstrates a deck's structure; presentations run in the native app. Gallery imagery comes from macOS development builds.
Author now
Write and share local .mdx files with the deck format, starter, or authoring skill. Viewing them needs an app build. Installing the skill does not install the application or dependencies.
Contributor builds
The Legend Apps checkout uses Bun and a configured macOS native toolchain. Development builds use the checkout compiler and local Bun. Release builds embed application JavaScript and the deck compiler, with correct architecture, native dependencies, and Apple signing required when building. The compiler needs Bun 1.3+ or Node 22+; Slides detects an installed runtime or offers to download a checksum-verified Bun.
See Getting started for development commands and Presenting for release rehearsal. These are contributor workflows rather than a public installation channel.
Effects and offline use
Install links in the gallery require a Slides build with the legend-slides URL scheme registered. Install packs before presenting and retain the deck's version lockfile. Installed compilation and playback work offline; remote Webview content may still require network.
Before a talk
Compile and rehearse in the actual build and display setup. Native captures, GPU effects, Webviews, fonts, and files need checks beyond compilation. PowerPoint or PDF export is not part of the workflow described here.
